November 2023
• With the amount collected in this edition, the Tarragona camping site has reached a precise figure of €91,738 allocated to social causes for needy children over eleven years. • In 2023, UNICEF's "Friendly Hotels" solidarity program focuses on helping children who lack access to clean drinking water.
Playa Montroig Camping Resort has maintained its commitment to UNICEF's "Friendly Hotels" project since 2012, during which time they have raised over €90,000, surpassing the €4,000 mark each year. In this eleventh edition of the program, the Tarragona camping site raised €6,738.
As the first campsite in the country to join the "Friendly Hotels" project, Playa Montroig Camping Resort has been part of this significant solidarity campaign. The total amount raised in these eleven years, which comes from their clientele, now exceeds €90,000, which has been allocated to social causes in support of children.
In 2023, the "Friendly Hotels" campaign continues to fight against the lack of clean drinking water in areas most affected by climate change, as the NGO estimates that 100 million children exist in countries with limited access to water. With the solidarity fundraising, UNICEF proposes to undertake actions such as building water systems that can withstand the adverse effects of climate change, implementing educational workshops to respond to natural disasters, or supplying clean drinking water, water purification tablets, and other hygiene essentials to the children who need them most.
Playa Montroig Camping Resort, rated the best campsite in Spain by ACSI, not only seeks the highest standards of excellence in its services and facilities but also emphasizes the importance of children's well-being. This commitment goes beyond participation in "Friendly Hotels" and extends to adapting the establishment for young visitors, including daily supervised children's activities, playgrounds, shallow pools, and specialized medical services on-site.
Alejandro Giménez, director of Playa Montroig Camping Resort, stated, "Continuing to be part of this charitable project for another year is an honor for our establishment. We consider helping children in need a fundamental pillar of our society, and we want to continue contributing to it."
